PETER NTEMI holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology. is an assistant lecture and researcher. He lectures and provides supervisory services to students’ project and research undertakings. He also provides career guidance and counseling services to students.


Among the researches he conducted include the Integrated Community Based Adult Education as a strategy for Poverty reduction in Tanzania The case of Misungwi District; and Witchcraft practices and continued killing of elderly people in Tanzania: The study of Mwanza and Shinyanga Regions (on progress)

Peter  has had training on the setting, moderating, and marking the competence based examinations. He has also trained in areas such as curricula preparation, minor and major reviews, preparing strategic plans, business analysis and framework document, organizational change management, competence based training methodology, family life education and HIV Test Access and Treatment Update Study(STATUS).

Work experience

Peter was first appointed in public services in June,2009 as a tutor/education officer and stationed to teach at the Mineral Resources Institute under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals where he taught for five years. He was granted a full registration as a technical teacher by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). While at the institute he was appointed to act in various positions as head of department, head of administration and human resources, deputy principal finance and administration and Dean of Students. He also worked with Intralhealth International as a research site coordinator for fourteen months while conducting STATUS search study in Tanzania; jointly with the Ministry of Health and social welfare, Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and Japhiego.

Peter joined the Institute of Social Work as an Assistant Lecturer in June,2015 from Bahi district council where he was serving as the Senior Education Officer for Secondary Schools; in the education department, the position he served for eight months. He also worked as a tutorial assistant at Mount Meru University, soon after the bachelor degree graduation, the post he served for one year prior to going for further studies.
