BACKGROUND AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Ms. kawamala holds a Master’s Degree in Community Work from Bergen University College, Norway; Advanced Diploma in Social Work from the Institute of Social Work in Dar es salaam, Tanzania; and a Diploma in Education from the Dar es salaam Teachers’ College, Tanzania.
Ms Kawamala is an Assistant lecturer in the Social work department at the Institute of Social Work. She facilitates the following modules: Social work with children and youth, Social work and Community health as well as Developmental social work. She supervises students’ field work practice as well as researches and project papers.
She worked as a secondary school teacher and students’ counselor at Rosmini Secondary School in Tanga

Patience has facilitated training on the Healing Family Programme – Parenting Skills, a partnership program between IRC, Institute of Social Work and the Department of Social Welfare
