BACKGROUND AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
NAME :EVETTA SOLOMON LEMA
Evetta holds an M.Sc. in Childhood Studies from the University of Edinburgh, and a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the Institute of Social Work. She serves as an Assistant Lecturer at the Institute of Social Work, teaching Guidance and Counseling, Social Policy, Introduction to Social Welfare Services and Introduction to Social Work Practice. Evetta has worked at Braidhills Care Center, Edinbugh, and has volunteered at WVC, Edinburgh (African Help Project – Children and Families; and Positive Children & Young Persons Project).
Evetta is a trainer of the Healing Families Project (Parenting skills), a partnership program between the International Rescued Committee, ISW and the Department of Social Work. She participated as facilitator in a UN Women project coordinated by UN Women, TGNP, LHRC and ULINGO; Training the marginalized groups that were identified as aspirants for the forthcoming election (Women, Youths and People with disabilities). Evetta has conducted training sessions and seminars with FYF (a Non for Profit Organization in Tanzania) on projects that involved children and youths of Tanzania (Adolescents and Identity; and Active Agency for Disabled Children and Youths). Evetta is affiliated with IPYG – International Peace Youth Group, a youth organization comprised of many affiliated youth groups working for world peace. Her Research Interest lies on Children and Youth development, Child protection, VAC, Constructions of Childhood and Family Welfare, Youth Empowerment, Disability and Gender.
